This happened to me too. First it was only 145/90 because I have white coat, then I became even more sedentary and subject to increased stress and gained back 30 lbs. So now last reading was 150/100. I was shocked and upset. I don't want these meds... I eat properly, but I'm scared to move now. I feel so awful and strange.. headachy.

God help me.

That is what happen to me this semester. I freak out. Probably the stress and the bad diet. The university doctor send me to the urgent care or my personal doctor, I decided to go to my personal doctor. They check it like 5 times and it all came normal. But this open my eyes, I was 180 in my senior year of high school, now as a sophomore in college I am 240. I am overweight. No wonder the girls don't pay attention to me anymore. LoL Now, I decided to eat healthy and do exercise. I just check it like 2 hours ago, it was 130/90. My sister is a CNA and she said sometimes if you are nervous it could alter your blood pressure. So take a depth breath before taking the blood pressure. I am like super scare but the same time happy!

It is normal for blood pressure to increase during pregnancy, like 120-125 and 80-90. If your blood pressure goes 140-145/90 then it is considered elevated and will be monitored. If it goes 145 plus/95-100plus then it is considered high and you could be placed on medication, bed rest or if you are far enough along in your pregnancy, then you will be induced.

I have gestational hypertension and my blood pressure has gone from elevated to high back to elevated enough that I am on house rest, need to go for blood/urine work weekly and I see my doctor weekly as well.

It is not common, really only like 1-2/10 pregnant women deal with truly high blood pressure.
References :
High blood pressure is fairly common during pregnancy. Common enough to have its own name: pregnancy-induced hypertension.

The more important question is how to treat it and prevent it from becoming critical and causing complications like preeclampsia. Blood pressure medications are problematic at best of times and they're the last things you want your baby to share.

There's a wonderful natural technique called slow breathing with music. The thing that's so great about this method is that both mother and baby benefit. Unborn children are extremely responsive to their mothers' breathing and to music.

Slow breathing is clinically proven to reduce blood pressure and it's become a popular hypertension treatment. The idea is very simple but slow breathing has to be regulated in a precise way to be most effective. Slow breathing with music uses music for relaxation while sound cues in the music guide the user's breathing.

The gentle, rhythmic movement of deep breathing along with relaxing music is the ideal way to deal with pregnancy induced hypertension. The articles below explain the method in depth.
References :
http://www.control-your-blood-pressure.com/lower_blood_pressure_pregnancy.html

Low BP is only ever a problem if it's so low that it's unable to push blood around the body. Providing you are not symptomatic with dizziness etc, and you are otherwise well, there is no need to worry.

Rarely low BP can be indicative of problems such as cardiac problems, addisions disease and diabetes.
References :
Cardiac Nurse

Pangolin's absolutely right. The body will be pumping out huge amounts of adrenaline and making other compensations long before you see a drop in blood pressure. The only emergency situation in which I can think it would be warranted would be severe pulmonary edema, in which rotating torniquets and bloodletting were a secondary part of the treatment as late as the 1970's, in very exceptional circumstances. But even then, it would be of little use and not an alternative to proper treatment. Also, that's such a dire circumstance that the "impossibility" of medical help would look a lot less impossible.
